Cherish Layout with Kat Benjamin

Sometimes, a few choice embellishments are all you need.  In this layout, Kat Benjamin uses simple layers masterfully to frame a fantastic photo.  One of our favorite elements is the inclusion of the chalkboard tag, which really balances and draws attention to the bold title work.

Kat used these embellishments from our shop:
Glitter Butterflies

Assortment of shipping tags

Heart Straight Pins

Hand-dyed Doilies

Chalkboard Tags

Baby Boy Layout with Alyssa McGrew

Today, Alyssa McGrew is here to share a layout that she recently created.  Alyssa says:

Since our family is expecting a new little boy in September, I've been trying to get back in the routine of baby layouts!  I've never been one for traditional baby themed products, so I used some papers from my stash to create this page, then added some felt doilies and tags from the Curtsey Boutique shop to soften the edges and add a warm feeling.

Fresh Air Layout with Kat Benjam

Fresh Air 12x12 Layout
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Kat Benjamin
I always have a hard time when working with purple so I absolutely love Kat's layout today.  The contrast of the purple and blue on the white background is stunning and her flecks of color in enamel dotes and mists perfectly highlight the bright color and airy feel of her photographs. This one is definitely going to we a scraplift for me.

Project Life Week #1 with CarrieAnne

Week #1 Project Life Layout
Curtsey Botuique Designer
CarrieAnne DeLoach

One of my New Year's resolutions is to successfully complete a Project Life album this year.  One thing that has always gotten in my way in the past is my dislike of my handwriting. I could of course print everything on the computer, but that has a tendancy to stop my momentum and than the layout stalls and than it just doesn't get finished.

So this year, I've decided to get over it - my handwriting, is my handwriting and that's that!  I love how easy our shipping tags make journaling and there are a few of them and our mini library cards on this layout.

This week was quite busy for us as we had out of town family visiting, a trip to a friends for New Year's Dinner, unpacking tons of boxes at our new house, football bowl games to watch and a trip to the Varsity - an Atlanta diner that is a landmark.

Hanukkah Treat Jar with Lisa Spiegel

Hanukkah Treat Jar
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Lisa Spiegel

The first night of Hanukkah was on Wednesday November 27th this year, which is the earliest it has ever or will ever be in my lifetime.  We are celebrating both Thanksgiving and Hanukkah on the same night. I thought it would be fun to come up with a Hanukkah in a Jar kit for the kids.

Inside the mason jar (perfect for kids because it's plastic!) is a set of Hanukkah candles tied in twine, a nice new dreidel, yummy chocolate coins (or gelt), the instructions for the dreidel game printed on photo paper and the words to the prayers for the candles as well as a traditional Hanukkah song.

I stamped a Happy Hanukkah tag, tied it to the lid with seam binding ribbon and added the beautiful felt snowflake to the top of the jar (I love how the middle of the snowflake is the shape of the Star of David!). Each child will have a different top to their jar (as the felt set comes with several different snowflakes) so they can distinguish their jars and can keep all their gelt winnings to themselves!  This was very easy to put together for the kids, and I know they are just going to love having their own Hanukkah Jar!  If anyone would like to make their own Hanukkah jars I would be happy to email them the files for the Dreidel Game and the prayers.  Just leave a comment with your email and I'll get it right out to you.  Happy Thanksgivikuh!
