Bath Salts Gift Bag with Rebekah Faries

Today we are sharing a delightful project that doubles as a great gift idea.  This gift bag, created by Rebekah Faries, starts with a Kraft Bakery Bag, to which Rebekah added bath salts, then made it beautiful by adding a Heart Shaped Doily, some Baker's Twine, a tag, and an adorable wooden scoop from the shop.

The shop is on vacation currently, but you can still browse these items and more by clicking HERE.  We'll be back soon!

Fun in A Tree Layout with Alyssa McGrew

Fun in a Tree Layout
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Alyssa McGrew

This week's Project Life spread focused on our trip to a local ropes course.  I got so many fun photos of the kids (and their dad) in the trees, working their way through the course.  I used a series of tags from the shop as the base of the layout, and built on top of them.  I also carried the tag theme into the divided side of the page.

All of the shop's tags can be found in our Labels, Tags, and Library Supplies Sections Here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/curtseyboutique?section_id=10929714

Thanksgiving Day Place Card & Utensil Holder with Andrea Amu

Thanksgiving Day Place Card & Utensil Holder
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Andrea Amu

When I came across the burlap bags in my stash of Curtsey Boutique supplies, I knew instantly that they would make wonderfully fancy utensil bags for dressing up our Thanksgiving dinner table!

The chalkboard tags are the perfect accompaniment for displaying everyone's seating arrangement.  Better yet, these bags were so easy to put together.  I used some faux leaves that I purchased at the local dollar store and started by attaching two leaves to a yellow hand-dyed doily with glue dots.  I also adhered a fabric Curtsey Boutique flower on top of the leaves and then affixed the embellished doily to the burlap bag with a heavier glue dot.

To finish off each bag, I simply tied on the chalkboard tag with a string of burlap and wrote the name onto the tag with chalk.  Easy and elegant!

Hocus Pocus Halloween Layout with Jenifer Cowles

Hocus Pocus Halloween Layout
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles
Halloween Layouts? I know you're thinking I'm a few weeks late, but I just got my Halloween photos back from the my local pharmacy and couldn't wait to try out this cute layout idea Jenifer shared. Perhaps you too aren't ready to let go of all that's spooky and fun?

Project Instructions:

Take a fun piece of spider patterned paper and do some layering with ribbons and lace.  Make a fun “spider web” by layering a few doilies, string and adding the wonderful glitter spiders.

Finish the layout off with a fun title and a chalkboard tag.

DIY Idea Book Tutorial with Jenifer Cowles

Project Idea Book
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jenifer Cowles
1. On top of the 5” doily place 6 hexagon shapes down in the shape of a flower, leaving the center open.

2. In the center adhere the beautiful flower.

3.  If desired cut down the chalkboard tag to the desired size and label the book.

4. Around all of the hexagon edges and the edge of the book take a fine point pen and create stitching lines.

5. Take 10 sheets of plain copy paper and fold them in half and sew them to the cover down the center.

Now you have a fun little book to jot down notes, sketches and ideas that will fit in your purse or just sit on your desk.
