Congrats Gift Bag with Alyssa McGrew

Congrats Gift Bag
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Alyssa McGrew

Our very own Alyssa McGrew welcomed the most adorable new addition to her family last week!  We are celebrating by sharing a gift bag she made for a friend of hers who has had a baby boy earlier in the year.

Alyssa, needed a creative way to wrap a wallet-sized book, and the kraft embossed bags from the shop were easy to embellish, and the perfect size for a small item.

Fun in A Tree Layout with Alyssa McGrew

Fun in a Tree Layout
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Alyssa McGrew

This week's Project Life spread focused on our trip to a local ropes course.  I got so many fun photos of the kids (and their dad) in the trees, working their way through the course.  I used a series of tags from the shop as the base of the layout, and built on top of them.  I also carried the tag theme into the divided side of the page.

All of the shop's tags can be found in our Labels, Tags, and Library Supplies Sections Here: https://www.etsy.com/shop/curtseyboutique?section_id=10929714

Baby Shower Invite with Alyssa McGrew

Baby Shower Invitation
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Alyssa McGrew
Alyssa has a neat baby shower invitation to share with us today. It showcases how wonderfully our shipping tags fit in our small glassine bags.  Using one of our wood grain embossed tags as her base she stamped the "who, what, when, where and why" info on its center.  Adding a shabby chic butterfly was a great finishing touch.

I love the idea that by pulling out the tag you could reuse this card for another purpose,  eco-chic crafting!

Shabby Tea Room Rustic Elegance Challenge Card

Shabby Tea Room Rustic Elegance Card
Serendipitious Scrapper

It's been a super busy week - the kind where kids get sick, something breaks, you have a million errands to run and the laundry has taken over the coach (in truth, I'm not even sure that the coach is still there). That being said my creative juices were absolutely gone so I'd thought I try a new challenge site to help jump start my card making efforts.

So this was my interpretation of challenge 136 "Rustic Elegance" at the Shabby Tea Room.

Here is their inspiration photo and we were given the prompts of using something elegant and rustic.

I love how the wood grain embossing came out. I wanted to really stress the texture so I used both Versa Mark ink and Creamy Caramel Stampin' UP! ink to highlight the details.

The frame was made with one of my new favorite tools - Martha Stewart's paper clay and silicon molds.  The rosette is from my shop and there is lots of Snow Queen glimmer mist over everything.

Have a great day,

CarrieAnne

Eiffel Tower & Woodgrain Packaging

Die Cut Eiffel Tower and Wood Grain Kraft Bag
Curtsey Boutique
We were lucky to have new neighbors move in down the street this week - especially lucky because they have 2 girls the same age as my oldest two girls which means easy peasy play dates!

I wanted to make them something as a welcome gift and so I put this gift bag together. Ironically my baked goods were to large to fit inside, so they got delivered old school - disposable aluminum pan with a little note (not so fancy).

I still like the bag, though so I used it to pack up an Etsy order.  In retrospect I wish I would have stamped the "Carte Postale" post card with a script background stamp, but it didn't occur for me to do so until I had already mailed it - urgh!!

I die cut the Eiffel Tower from fabric that I had adhered to wonder under (it makes a serious difference in obtaining smooth edges with cotton fabrics.)  I've been die cutting EVERYTHING from fabric since I figured this out. I'm sure most of you knew this trick a long time past, but I normally figure these things out by trial and error - mostly error!

Have a lovely day,

CarrieAnne

Wood Grain Kraft Bag Packaging Ideas

Curtsey Boutique Wood Grain Kraft Bags and Glassine Polka Dot Bags

I love pretty packaging, and half the fun of running my Etsy shop is embellishing the purchases my lovely shoppers make. These Medium Kraft Bags embossed with a wood grain pattern are now available in the shop and they look sweet with the Polka Dot embossed Glassine Bags.

This parcel is for a sweet bride who purchased some of my fancy blooms and had me turn them into hair clips for her. I think everything about a woman's wedding should be fancy - why not her packaging to?

I used hot glue to adhere the tops of each bag back and to adhere the Polka Dot Glassine Bag to the Wood Grain Kraft Bag.

The doily is one of my Raspberry Tea hand dyed doilies. The lace and flower embellished dress forms and grid labels will be available in the shop soon as well.

Here are the links if you'd like to do some shopping!
