Wedding Gift Box with Jenifer Cowles

I needed a quick box for a wedding I was attending recently and this turned out just perfect.  Using 8 doilies I accordion folded them into quarters and hot glued them onto a circle to make a fun layered doily flower.  I stacked a flower on a button for a center.  A sprig of stamens and some wire string and I was ready to go with a fun custom box in just the colors I needed.

I really like the beautiful array of neutral colors and embellishment Jenifer in this recent trip to Yosemite National Park. The shop is full of kraft colored items and Jenifer did a great job mixing and matching them.

Kraft and Woodgrain Card with Jess Mutty

Today we have another amazing card to share, this one from DT Member Jess Mutty.

Jess says: Sometimes I really just love the simplicity of a neutral color scheme. You can really make the most of textures with basic kraft and white.  Today's card has lots of rich layers of paper doilies, felt, seam binding, rosettes, and more.

The background is from an embossed kraft bag with parts of white paper doilies on top.  The flower is actually formed from eight book page hearts folded in half.  I also used some fab white banner stickers and cut a notch in some doubled up kraft tape for coordinating banners.

My True Love Card by Jess Mutty

My True Love Card
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jess Mutty

I'm in the mood for romance this month and there are so many gorgeous offerings in the Curtsey Boutique shop to help create that mood.  Pretty ribbon, delicate doilies, and soft flowers have me feelin' the love!

I used soft pinks and grays on this card and the focal point is the canvas dress form on top of the gray doily.  I tied a pink seam binding bow around the waist. I also love the subtle embossed Xs and Os on the white tag.

And of course no Valentine can be complete without roses.  These rolled felt roses add the perfect dimension and texture to a card.
