Christmas Hybrid Card with Jenifer Cowles

Today we are taking a peek at a lovely holiday card created by Jenifer Cowles.  Jenifer says, "I created a hybrid Christmas card that I plan to send to Grandparents with the kids school pictures and little notes from each of the kids tucked into each bag."

Jenifer used our paper straws from the shop to bind a series of glassine envelopes together with baker's twine.  What a genius idea (and so festive!).

Jenifer decorated the front of her card with a snowflake rosette and doilies from the shop.  After decorating the envelopes with more goodies from the shop, she asked her kids to write special notes to their grandparents and tucked them inside the envelopes.  What a brilliant holiday keepsake for grandparents!

Thanks for taking a peek today!  To see more of Jenifer's work, please visit her blog by clicking on her picture below.

Operation Write Home Christmas Card #1

Operation Write Home Card #1
Curtsey Boutique
If you've followed the blog at all you know I'm a great admirer of solider focused charities. This week I'll be teaching a class for women in my church and we'll be making 100 cards for Operation Write Home. As a former Army wife - I LOVE the founding principle of this organization. Sending handmade cards to soliders that they can than send home to their loved ones.

I went with two different card designs - here is the first. (I made two versions and settled on the one with the yellow star.)  I'll be sharing the second design with you on Wednesday.

I'm loving felt die cuts on all my projects lately - such pretty texture and dimension. This holly embossing folder is one of my favorites as well.

If you'd like to put your cards in the hands of our heroes visit the Operation Write Home site HERE

Have a lovely day,

CarrieAnne

Christmas Corrugated Glitter Stars

Jolly Holiday Christmas Card
Curtsey Boutique

For years I avoided glitter because of the mess. I couldn't stand having flecks of it everywhere from my hair to my dishes for weeks after working with it.  I've recently come across a glitter corrugated heavyweight cardboard that hardly flakes! Glitter cardboard + die cutter = vintage holiday love!

I made this card with the brand new Carta Bella Christmas line "Christmas Day." So beautiful and just recently it became available via Jessica Sprague in digital format - I love it. I printed all the pieces on my computer and than distressed, layered and inked till I was happy with the result. I of course had to add one of my new glitter stars. They are now available in the shop - as are a ton of other fun glitter shapes.

Have a sparkly night,

CarrieAnne
