1st Birthday Card with Alyssa McGrew

1st Birthday Card
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Alyssa McGrew

Alyssa, is with us today sharing a beautiful birthday card.

"I created this card over the weekend for a young cousin who is turning one.  After misting the canvas butterfly, I simply added a few faux pearls with some paint.  So easy! "

"On the inside of the card, the paper I used was textured and not easy to write on.  I found an easy solution- a library card!  A little adhesive, and I had a great spot to write my personal note to my adorable little cousin."

Jennifer has it all in the bag today as she showcases our brand new muslin bags, accented with misting and Curtsey Boutique embellishments

Welcome to our New Designer Andrea Amu and a St. Patrick's Day Card Tutorial

The shop has continued to grow due to the blessings of having wonderful customers and fantastic design team members. We've decided to expand our design team and are delighted to be welcoming Andrea Amu to our family!
Lucky in Love Card and Tutorial

Andrea Amu

Andrea's starting things off with a bit of luck - a St. Patrick's Day themed card with an easy to follow tutorial.

Lucky In Love Card Tutorial

1.  Fold a section of yellow cardstock to create the card and then using the Elegant Edges Cricut cartridge, cut a decorative frame from green patterned paper to anchor onto the card front.

2. Ink the edges of the decorative frame and added faux-stitching around the card with a pounce wheel tool.

3. Layer one of the hand dyed yellow doilies from the Curtsey Boutique onto the bottom left corner.

4. Cut 3 heart shapes with the Paper Lace Cricut cartridge and piece them together to form a clover shape and mount onto the card.

5. Spray-dye crinkled white seam binding from the Curtsey Boutique with Glimmer Mist to make the binding green to match back to the clover.

6. To create the dainty flower embellishment for the clover design, use 3 more of the yellow dyed doilies and fold them several times to create an almost triangular element. Layer the three doily triangles together and tie with the green dyed seam binding.

7.  Secure with a decorative brad in the bow's center.

 8. Embellish with a pearlized heart pin from the shop and a banner design created with the Sophisticated Cricut cartridge.

9. Hand stamp the sentiment onto the banner using tiny alpha stamps.

Card and Envelope Set with Jess Mutty

Card and Envelope Set
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jess Mutty

Today Jess has a card and envelope set with a twist.  Instead of a traditional envelope she used an embossed kraft bag.

"I think it adds something extra to a special gift and works really well for those cards you are not sending in the mail.

I used lots of The Curtsey Boutique embellishments to decorate the card and bag.  Accordion rosettes are fun but not too girly for this more masculine baby set.  I used Fancy Pants' Blissful Blizzard collection and the reds, blues, and browns coordinated perfectly with the sweet Picadilly Circus paper bow and the brown and kraft paper rosettes.  I sewed three book page hearts together to add dimension and tied off the chevron embossed tags with some crinkled seam binding.
