Hand Warmer Tutorial with Jenifer Cowles

Curtsey Boutique Project Instruction Page
Muslin Bag Hand warmers
Original Design : Jenifer Cowles
Curtsey Boutique Supplies:

With the weather being so cold in most of the country I needed a little bit more to keep my hands warmer than just a pair of gloves.  Using the 4x6 muslin bags from the shop I was able to create these super easy but useful hand warmers.

Project Instructions:
Since this will be heated up in the microwave you don’t want to decorate to heavily.  I stitched a simple heart with bakers twine in the center of my muslin bag.  Fill the bag with 1 cup of rice and stitch the bag closed.  Done!! Now 30 seconds in the microwave you have a little warmer to keep in your coat pocket.  Enjoy.  These would make wonderful gifts.

Headed to a New Year's Eve party and need to give the host or hostess something with a bit of sparkle?  Kim hand painted the stripes on our muslin bags with a metallic finish acrylic paint. She topped the bags off with colorful sewn pennant.

Our muslin bags can be found here in the shop:

This year has been a wonderful one here at the Curtsey Boutique and we can't wait to see what next year brings.

Be safe and have fun tonight!

Shabby Chic Card with Jess Mutty + New Release - Glitter Clothes Pins, Painted Buttons & Mini Ruffle Flowers

Shabby Chic Romantic Card
Curtsey Boutique Designer
Jess Mutty

I'm not usually one for pastels but there is something about all the romantic Curtsey Boutique embellishments that makes me want to play with soft colors and everything pretty.

I used a ton of stuff on here.  The fabric in the middle is actually cut from a muslin bag.  I folded and sewed a paper doily on top and layered some flowers and a wood button.

And how cute are these new little clothespins!? I used one here to clip the book page heart and glitter banner to the upper corner.  So sweet!
